D's are the backbone of most climbers' racks, and to some climbers, shaving ounces is the most important thing, so Omega trimmed the weight of their standard D by a full fourteen grams, but still provide 24kN of major-axis strength!
By utilizing ISO Cold Forging and a smaller barstock than their standard D series, they achieved the perfect compromise between strength and weight.
