Rappel Master Training
The
Rappel Master/Basic Rope Rescue Course is 40 hours of instruction (10 hours per day), with six hours of classroom and the remaining time will be practical instruction and application in the field.
The training is based upon California Police Officer Standards and Training Course #1850-33577 as authored by ATTACK! OpGear.
Course Summary
Students will learn the following concepts and/or skills:
Incident (evolution) command, analysis and decision factors
Day/Night operations in aerial, urban and rural environments
Rappel Tower Operations and Safety Protocol
Rope System Rigging theory and techniques
Raise/Lower personnel, canines and equipment Low and High Angle Rope Operations
Fast Rope and HELO Operations
Successful teaching techniques
Risk Management
Rappel Master Duties
Safety Officer Duties
Rigging Officer Duties
Belay Officer Duties
Rappelling techniques
Ascending techniques
Self-rescue techniques
Single rope rescue techniques
Two-rope rescue techniques
Equipment care and maintenance
All rope and webbing knots pertinent to rope operations
Capabilities and limitations of personnel and equipment
Practical exercises, individual/team evaluations and test
Our course can be conducted at your training site or ours in Austin, Texas.
The course contents can be modified to fit your team's requirements.
Although our course is directed towards LE and military personnel, we welcome SAR, fire-rescue and civilian participants.
Minimum class size is eight students and basic rappelling skills are required.
