Rappel Master Training
The
Rappel Master/Basic Rope Rescue Course is 40 hours of instruction (10 hours per day), with six hours of classroom and the remaining time will be practical instruction and application in the field.
The training is based upon California Police Officer Standards and Training Course #1850-33577 as authored by ATTACK! OpGear.
Course Summary
Students will learn the following concepts and/or skills as requested:
Day/Night operations in aerial, urban and rural environments
Incident (evolution) command, analysis and decision factors
All rope and webbing knots pertinent to rope operations
Practical exercises, individual/team evaluations and test
Capabilities and limitations of personnel and equipment
Raise/Lower personnel, canines and equipment Rappel Tower Operations and Safety Protocol
Rope System Rigging theory and techniques
Low and High Angle Rope Operations
Equipment care and maintenance
Fast Rope and HELO Operations
Successful teaching techniques
Single rope rescue techniques
Two-rope rescue techniques
Self-rescue techniques
Ascending techniques
Rappelling techniques
Rappel Master Duties
Rigging Officer Duties
Safety Officer Duties
Belay Officer Duties
Risk Management
Our course can be conducted at your location, which will save your agency time and expense.
Our course is directed towards LE and military personnel and we welcome SAR and fire-rescue participants.
The contents can be modified to fit your team's requirements.
Minimum class size is ten students. Cost per student is $395 and rappelling gear discounts are available.
There are no prerequisites.
