The DC8 provides exceptional control of starting acceleration, rappelling speed, deceleration for stopping, lightweight, extremely tough. Stainless steel wear-resistant surfaces are the main features of this unique descender.

The DC8 descender performs well in repetitive rappelling, especially in the training environment.

Designed for use on rope 1/2" and smaller, the wider "shoulders" help to prevent formation of a girth hitch when the rappeller's weight is off the rope. When descending, the un-weighted end of the rope does not rub against the loop of rope passing around the neck of this descender, due to its unique shape.

As with all SMC products, welding is done by aircraft certified welders, followed by dye penetrant inspection to insure full compliance with our stringent Quality Assurance Standards.
